Hydrofarm Food Project

by Canadian Artists Against Poverty

This fundraising initiative project grows and sells herbs and vegetables year rounds via hydroponics technology. The HydroFarm Food Project is currently in operation to increase CAAP’s charitable impact. We are serving local businesses in Calgary. Not only will the urban farming initiative provide funding to expand our organization’s art-focused programs, but most importantly it will increase health awareness among our participants as they learn to plant, harvest, and eat locally sourced herbs and vegetables.

CAAP LONG AND SHORT-TERM GOALS:
• Enable us to provide all our art programs for free so that they
remain financially accessible to our beneficiaries. We strive to
empower vulnerable artists towards social inclusion and
self-sustainability through our entrepreneurship programs and
art workshops, supporting them to reach their full potential.
• Provide free online art workshops, art materials, organic
vegetables and PPE to participants.
• Helping CAAP to become self-sustaining, will also bring about financial sustainability to
our beneficiaries.
• By supporting us, you are helping boost Calgary’s economy.
• Create employment opportunities, and provide on-the-job training in vocational and life
skills, entrepreneurial skills, through employment-readiness programs and paid work
experience for CAAP program participants and vulnerable Calgarians.
• Create a nutritional program for CAAP beneficiaries to engage volunteerism and
promote health equity to community members.
