Safe Haven Women’s Shelter Society is a non-profit, charitable organization dedicated to helping women and children in crisis, whose goal is to provide a safe place for women and children in an effort to end domestic violence and abuse. However, Safe Haven is more than a shelter. In addition to offering emergency housing, we have a 24/7 crisis line, a public education program, outreach advocacy, and child support.
Emergency Housing
• Safe Haven offers a 21-bed facility and a modern security and surveillance system. Crisis workers are available 24/7 to provide basic provisions, emotional support, and community resources.
Child Support
• For people in the shelter, Safe Haven has a playroom and a full-time Child Support Worker to offer respite and support. Programs such as Summer Day Camp and Kids Club are open to the public.
24/7 Crisis Line
• If you or someone you know needs to get to a safe place right away, give us a call. However, you don’t have to be in a crisis to call their crisis line. If you want advice on how to help a friend who is in an abusive relationship, or if you’re feeling scared or overwhelmed and need some emotional support, please call and talk to one of our crisis workers.
Outreach Advocacy
• Outreach workers can help anyone in need. Outreach workers help people of all ages and genders with resume building, court proceedings, housing options, safety planning, and other challenges that stem from trauma and abuse.
Public Education
• Public Education works in the community teaching people about Safe Haven, and other topics related to anti-violence advocacy. We offer workshops, presentations, events, groups, training, and materials on topics like Safe Haven services, healthy relationships, trauma & abuse, and safety. All of our Public Education programs are open to anyone in the community.
