We rely on donations - and are completely volunteer-driven. We make every penny count and not one penny goes to wages.

With rising costs including the cost of hay and feed, the need to help horse and equine rescues and sanctuaries across Canada has never been greater.

Unfortunately, horses and other equines are being turned away because rescue groups can't keep up. In Canada, that means that horses who could otherwise be saved are ending up in the slaughter pipeline.

(Yes, Canada allows for the inhumane slaughter of horses, pet horses, rodeo horses, race horses and wild horses for human consumption.)
